This is one of the styles I used in my engagement photography. The effect is scanned print with low dynamic color range, which makes the photo seem "old". The highlights and shadows are desaturated, and the colors have strong tints but not necessarily accurate. A Curve adjustment layer is first created to fix the initial exposure of necessary. A second Curve layer is created below the first one and the ends of the histogram are cropped to create this effect. Channel Mixer is used to desaturate the image, and multiple Color Balance layers may be used to create different areas of colors.
