I just realized I haven’t blogged any engagement sessions for the entire 2009 year. Here are some old photos. I never had the motive to quit wedding photography, I just took down my website to relieve some stress. You don’t just give up something you have a passion for, it’s in your blood.

Once in a while I will photograph women in some sort of clothing, although I admit it doesn’t automatically make it qualify as a fashion shoot. This alleyway is in the back of Hoboken under an overpass ramp leading up to Union City. Apparently having a car parked in a small alleyway, with lighting equipment on the sidewalk and a barely clothed woman does not draw attention to the police when they drive by. Back lighting is obviously bi-xenon headlights with an Alien Bee as the front key light, bare bulb no umbrella. I seem to be putting out a lot of car related series of photos lately.

Who says you can’t feed the models? I find that happy models make happy pictures. After a relaxing lunch in Hoboken we decided to play photo shoot inside rather than walking outside in the hot humid weather. I can’t think of a better setting than a small white bedroom flooded with natural window light. The mood was perfect for my ideal photo session. As you know, I love girls and I love beds, and nothing is more heavenly than a girl in a bed. My only lens available was a Canon 24-70mm although at f/2.8, there was plenty of light, I wish I had my 35mm at 1.4 to create a more shallow depth of field.
